Thomas and Graham discovered a shared frustration with legacy SQL in 2012. Choosing to replace a relational system with MongoDB, a lifelong friendship with NoSQL was born.

The exhilaration of that first encounter with MongoDB led to them conceive a plan: to create user-friendly tools that would make working with MongoDB even more liberating and fun, while saving hours and hours of labor in the process. That led them to create Studio 3T, a GUI and IDE that helps hundreds of thousands of users worldwide experience the real joy of working with a well crafted tool, that just feels right.
