DIgSILENT GmbH is an independent software and consulting company providing highly specialised services in the field of electrical power systems for transmission, distribution, generation, industrial plants and renewable energy. DIgSILENT’s innovative product portfolio comprises PowerFactory, StationWare and Monitoring Systems.

PowerFactory is a leading power system analysis software, which covers the full range of functionality from standard features to highly sophisticated and advanced applications. For protection management, DIgSILENT offers StationWare, a central protection settings database and asset and business process management system. With Monitoring Systems, DIgSILENT provides multifunctional measuring systems. Power System Monitoring PFM300 features grid and plant supervision, fault recording, power quality and grid characteristics analysis. The extended version, Grid Code Compliance Monitoring System PFM300-GCC, offers additional features for continuous compliance auditing of power plants with respect to grid code requirements.

DIgSILENT GmbH, based in Gomaringen near Tübingen, goes back to the “Ingenieurbüro für Kybernetik in der Energieversorgung” (Engineering Office for Cybernetics in Energy Supply) founded by Martin Schmieg in 1985, which was transformed into DIgSILENT GmbH in 1997. The company is privately owned. In 2002, DIgSILENT moved its headquarters to the UNIPRO industrial park in Gomaringen. Due to successful growth, the building was expanded in 2011, doubling its capacity.
DIgSILENT has continued its expansion by establishing offices in Australia, South Africa, Italy, Chile, Spain, France and the USA, thereby facilitating improved service following the worldwide increase in usage of its software products and services.

With a strong partner network in many countries such as Mexico, Malaysia, UK, Switzerland, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, China and India, DIgSILENT services and software installations have been conducted in more than 170 countries.

DIgSILENT GmbH operates its own mini hydro power plant with 200 kW installed capacity. Two Francis turbines produce around 1 GWh a year. The power plant, which has been operating since 1909, is fully automated and used for equipment testing and research activities for measurement and test methods.

In addition, a 100 kWp photovoltaic plant consisting of 12 individually controlled tracker systems has been operating since 2010, as well as two roof-mounted PV system of 7 kWp and 14 kWp respectively. Daily production data of the 100 kWp plant can be observed at the Plant report.

DIgSILENT is certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
